As long as the race is still reasonably far away (>16 weeks), TRIQ recommends the reverse triathlon order, resulting in running, cycling, and swimming. TRIQ aims to send the athlete into the most physically demanding sport first to minimize the risk of injuries.
As the race approaches, the sequence is changed to the typical triathlon order, allowing the athlete to physiologically adapt to the respective transitions.
