HRV Data Logging

HRV Data Logging

The HRV (Heart Rate Variability) data tag indicates whether HRV data was recorded during your workout, based on your training device setup. Details on configuring your device to enable HRV logging are provided in the next section.

You may see one of the following status tags after syncing your workout:

  • “Data Logged” – Your device successfully recorded HRV data.
  • “No HRV” or “No Data” – Your device (maybe because of its setup) was unable to record HRV data.

Why Is HRV Data Important?

To enable upcoming HRV-related features in TRIQ, please activate HRV logging on your Garmin® device. This will ensure that HRV data is recorded during your activities.

Note: This is separate from Garmin's morning HRV measurement, which is a different feature. HRV logging is not enabled by default on your device.

How to enable HRV logging:

  1. Open the settings menu on your device.
  2. Go to "Physiological Metrics."
  3. Enable the "Log HRV" option. (If these steps don't apply to your device, please refer to the user manual.)

(Note: this guide is based on manuals of a Forerunner 945 & Fenix 6. If you have a different model the guide might not be applicable to you. In this case, please read your watch's manual on activating HRV logging during an activity.)

Important:
HRV data can only be recorded with a chest strap, not the optical sensor on your watch, as it may cause inaccurate readings due to motion during exercise. If your chest strap supports Bluetooth, use this connection for more stable data transmission. ANT+ connections are more prone to interference and may lead to less reliable results.
